Application:

It is mainly used to prepare rum, white wine, banana, pear, apple, pineapple, cream and other flavors. The amount used in gum is 1100mg/kg; the amount used in baked goods is 110mg/kg; 78mg/kg in candies; 29mg/kg in cold drinks; 10-15mg/kg in puddings; 7.7mg/kg in soft drinks

It is also used as cellulose esters and ethers, it is a solvent for various natural or synthetic resins

It is also used as an intermediate in organic synthesis for the production of pyrimethamine
