Usage:

Hexanoic acid is a food additive,It is used as a nutrition supplement that added to foods, drugs and cosmetics.

It is used in cheese, cream and fruit flavors. The dosage is according to normal production needs, generally 450mg/kg in seasoning; 28mg/kg in candy; 22mg/kg in baked food; 4.3mg/kg in cold drinks.

It can also be used as a thickener for spices, lubricating oil, rubber processing aids, varnish driers, etc.

It has been widely used in industrial applications such as perfumes, medicine, food additives, lubricating grease, tobacco flavor, rubber, and dyes.

It is used in medicine to prepare 4-Hexyl-1,3-benzenediol (CAS 136-77-6 )
