Application:  

Benzocaine is a fat-soluble topical anesthetic. Compared with several other local anesthetics such as Lidocaine, Tetracaine, its strength of action is smaller, so it will not cause discomfort due to anesthesia when it acts on the mucous membrane. It is a highly fat-soluble drug, so it is easy to combine with the mucous membrane or the lipid layer of the skin, but it is not easy to penetrate into the human body and cause toxicity.

Benzocaine can be used as a precursor material such as Methyl 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzoate and Procaine; at the same time, it is also used as a local anesthetic in medicine. It has analgesic and antipruritic effects. It is mainly used on wounds, ulcers, and mucosal surfaces. It can also be used as lubrication and pain relief for nasopharyngeal catheters and endoscopes. Temporarily relieve pain and itching skin discomfort, mild burns, sunburns, trauma and insect bites. Ear preparations are used to relieve the pain and itching of acute congestion, concentrated otitis externa, swimming otitis, and external use of the ear.
